YMCA Online Program Registration Instructions

YMCA Members AND Non-Members may register for programs providing you have been entered in the YMCA computer database and have been assigned an ID#. If you do not have an ID#, you must obtain one by calling or e-mailing the YMCA. (See specific instructions below.)
"YMCA members" are assigned an ID# when they join. Your member ID# is located on your membership card. You may log in using that ID#.
"Nonmember Participants" (people who have previously been registerd for programs in the computer database) are also assigned an ID#. If you know your ID# (or the ID# of the person you wish to register) you may log in using that ID#.
If you wish to obtain an ID#for yourself or another person, call your local YMCA, or e-mail your request to comments@metroymca.org. A unique ID# is required for EACH person you will be registering. Provide the following six items for EACH person:
1) Full name.
2) Gender.
3) Ethnicity.
4) Date of birth (and current grade).
5) Full address.
6) Phone number.
ID#s are assigned after this information has been entered. Once you have your ID#(s), you may log in to the system. A valid credit card is required to pay for programs online. You do not need a credit card to register for free programs.
A "Find Programs & Register" link is visible on most pages of our website. You'll see it over on the right-hand side of the page. Click it if you would like to go to the online registration page.
Please note: Not all YMCA programs are available for online registration.
Log in to Online Registration
On the home page, www.metroymca.org, select Find & Register from the Programs menu at the top of the page, or you may click the Find Programs & Register link on the right-hand column of the page.
Have ready the ID# for every person you wish to register. Registration also requires a credit card and a valid e-mail address. If you currently do not have an email account, you can set up a free one at Hotmail, Yahoo or MSN.
To log in, enter an ID# and Password according to the instructions, or you may choose to browse programs without logging in.
Select Your Program(s)
If you know the Program ID#, you may enter it where it asks for it, or simply browse by selecting from the drop-downs. Your search results will be displayed after clicking the Go button.
Program Details
A broken red dot indicates the program is not open for registration at this time.
A broken blue dot indicates the program is not open for ONLINE registration. These classes may require that you contact the branch to register.
A yellow triangle indicates the program will soon be opening for registration.
A green dot indicates the program is open for registration now.
Click on the blue underlined ID#s of the programs that interest you. This brings up the details of the program.
Register for Programs
Click the Register button at the bottom of the page if you wish to register for that program.
You will receive a SORRY message in red for the following reasons:
The person logged in does not meet the required age range for the class selected, or the computer system does not recognize the ID# of the person you attempt to register.
If the person you are registering is someone other than yourself, you will need to enter his or her ID# where it says Select Different Participant. Then click continue.
Click Add to Cart at any time to register that participant. Your shopping (registration) cart will appear. From here, you may add or remove programs prior to checkout.
Checkout
Clicking the Checkout button takes you to the checkout screen where you will be asked to verify address and billing information. A valid credit card is required to pay for programs online. You do not need a credit card to register for free programs. Once you have entered all necessary information, click Submit. An e-mail address is required so the system can send a confirmation. If you currently do not have one you can set up a free one at Hotmail, Yahoo or MSN.
Confirmation and Receipt
A confirmation screen appears after successfully completing the checkout process. Print out this confirmation page and bring it to the first class. An e-mail confirmation will also be sent to the e-mail address you provided. If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation within an hour please contact the YMCA to verify that your registration was successfully completed.
