West District Christian Emphasis (CE) Team Meeting

The West District CE Team will meet at the SouthWest Y on Tuesday, March 8, from noon to 1:00 P.M. This team is planning Christian Emphasis programming for the SouthWest, Armbrust, and Twin Rivers YMCAs. If you are interested in joining this team contact one of the Executive Directors at these Ys: Jeff DeWispelare (SouthWest), Judy Argintean (Twin Rivers), or Jolene Becher (Armbrust).

Council Bluffs and Downtown YMCA Christian Emphasis Committee Meetings

The Council Bluffs Y's Christian Emphasis Committee will meet Thursday, March 10, from noon to 1:00 P.M. at the Council Bluffs YMCA. Members of the committee include Luann Hughbanks, Patricia Fairbanks, Bob Koley, and Leo McIntosh. We're meeting in Leo's office but, poor fellow, he won't be able to attend because he'll be vacationing in Florida! Have fun Leo!

The Downtown CE Committee will meet on Monday, March 14, 10:30 - 11:30 A.M. at the Downtown Y in the Atrium on 2nd floor.

The ALPHA COURSE

Do you have questions about the Bible? Attend our 10-week Alpha Course where we explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting. Open to Y members and non-members. Twin Rivers Christian Emphasis Committee Meeting

The Twin Rivers YMCA will host its first Christian Emphasis Committee meeting on Tuesday, May 10th from noon to 1pm at the Twin Rivers YMCA. Judy Argintean is hosting this effort at Twin Rivers and says, "Please feel free to bring your lunch and perhaps you know someone wants to join this committee. Bring them too!" Focus on the C Radio Show Broadcasts

• Share how you experience God working in your life. • Listen to others tell of their experience of God. • Learn about the stages of change and the processes that help move from one stage to the next. • Experience the benefits of accountability partners and small group support. • Join others in finding ways to strengthen the “C” and the spiritual component of the Y mission. • Help create spiritual resources for fellow Y members.
	• Learn new ways to put prayer in everyday life. • Give and receive prayerful support individually and in small groups. • Join in intercessory prayer for specific individual and community needs. • Learn more about prayer practices (i.e., Meditation, The Jesus Prayer, Intercessory prayer, Children’s prayers).
• Strengthen your relationship with God. • Learn how to use spiritual practices to build regular physical activity into your life. • Experience being part of a healing community. • Learn how to bring small group support to make changes in your life. • Learn about other faith traditions, both Christian and non-Christian.
